Charleston Real Estate Market One Of The Best For Investing
According to a new report from HomeVestors and Local Market Monitor, Charleston is one of the best areas for real estate investing. Their data pinpointed areas with population growth of 4% or better, a job growth rate of over 2%, and low unemployment. The combination of these data points indicates that Charleston has lower prices now, pushing a profitable rental market while home prices are likely to increase of the next few years.
Charleston is the eighth best market for real estate investing, after Denver, Dallas, Houston, Austin, Seattle, Orlando, and San Antonio.
Transit Driving Charleston Real Estate Market
Charleston’s real estate market is showing extremely strong growth with more than 43 people moving to the area every day. According to the Charleston Regional Business Journal, this creates major opportunities for the booming commercial and residential real estate market, but also creates challenges with inventory and infrastructure. As new communities are built, the infrastructure and transit systems will evolve to decrease new congestion. Plans are already in place in the areas with the best growth, including the West Ashley Circle.
High Density Communities
Another factor in the growing market, are the people moving here. Millennials and baby boomers are some of the highest demographics coming in for the jobs and amazing community. According to the Charleston Trident Association of Realtors, these groups often want smaller homes in neighborhoods with good infrastructure. Higher density projects are being built in West Ashley and North Charleston in order to skip the long commute and housing sprawl.
