The weather is still warm but not hot, the ocean is still warm enough for swimming, and there are so many local events for residents and visitors to enjoy. Rockin’ The River Monthly Concert Series (September 3 and October 1) – Head to Riverfront Park in North Charleston to see local music for free!
Charleston Beer Week (September 13 – 19) – Celebrate the local beer scene with tap takeovers and special beer-themed events through Charleston.
Charleston Water SportsFest (September 14 -20) – Celebrate one of Charleston’s greatest assets – the water! Participate in activities, lessons, and all types of water fun from paddle boarding to harbor tours and everything in between.
Southern Living’s Taste of Charleston (September 25 – 27) – This 3 day event at Boone Hall features amazing local culinary delights. Taste your way through Charleston’s best restaurants, watch competitions, and take special culinary tours.
Charleston Mac Off (October 24) – Eat the best local mac and cheese dishes in this amazingly tasty yearly competition. Taste your favorites then relax with great music and local vendors.
Boone Hall Fright Nights (September – October) – From a Zombie Run 5K, haunted hayrides, and many other scary attractions – Fright Nights will be sure to feed your Halloween horror cravings.
Mt. Pleasant Children’s Day Festival (October 18) – Take the kiddos to the free children’s festival in Mt. Pleasant. Carnival rides, music, face-painting, and more are available from the East Cooper school district.
Harvest Festival (November 7) – Celebrate a bountiful harvest and all things fall at the Mullet Hall Equestrian Center with live bluegrass music, hay rides, pumpkin decorating, craft stations, and so much more are available!
Charleston International Film Festival (November 4 – 8) – Bring out your inner film-lover and appreciate the art and science of film, promoting cross-cultural awareness, the exchange of ideas, and social understanding.
Lowcountry Hoedown (November 7) – Support local initiatives and have a rowdy good time this year at the Lowcountry Hoedown. Local music, bbq, whisky, moonshine, and more!
